An Appeal to
the Alumni |
|
|
| |
|
May I
appeal to you for financial assistance for the
rehabilitation of our Alma Mater, the Aklan Catholic
College, from the losses and damages to properties caused by
the typhoon Frank on June 21, 2008. |
|
|
|
|
|
It is so
sad to report to you that our College was severely damaged
by the mudflow brought by the typhoon Frank. 95% of the
offices, 50% of its library holdings, and 50% of the
classrooms, which were all located at the ground floors of Msgr. Mabasa Building, Old AC Building, ACC annex buildings
in Andagao, were badly affected. Its sets of office
equipment including 56 units of
computers and printers, sets of office furniture and
fixtures, 5,153 volumes of book collections were
submerged in mud and were totally useless. The losses and
damages to properties amounted to more than P 18 M in total.
These resulted to the suspension of classes
for a month and of the Philippine Association of Accredited
Schools and Universities (PAASCU) Accreditation for Level II
and other scheduled evaluations and assessments with the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This is the very
reason that we appeal to you for donations to help us
rehabilitate its physical facilities, replenish book
collections, and
acquire sets of office equipment and furniture. Let us not
simply accept the fact that the quality and excellence that
our Alma Mater has been noteworthy of be buried to and be
carried away by the mud. Surely, your donations will help us
reclaim our dear Alma Mater from this mire of time. This is
your opportunity to recompense gratitude to your school for
the legacy of authentic, competent Catholic education that
it has emulated in you. Attached are photos of wreck and the
estimated cost of damages and losses for your discretion. |
|
|
|
This is
your time to lend your hand and reach out to your beloved
Alma Mater. Please help your school rise again from the mud.
We will be happy to accept your donations at Rizal
Commercial and Banking Corporation (RCBC) dollar-account no.
